Part Time Retail Assistant Manager

As Deputy Community Superstore Manager in our Chelmsley Wood Superstore, you'll play a key role in driving the performance of one of our large-format retail stores. Working alongside the Superstore Manager, you'll help drive sales, deliver against set store targets and making commercial decisions about stock and merchandising. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll lead by example on the shop floor, motivate our volunteer team and help ensure customers enjoy a great retail experience. This is a part-time role, working 15 hours per week

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Superstore Manager to create an exciting shop floor experience that makes Acorns stand out from our competitors
• Make decisions about the quality of stock, levels of pricing and style of merchandising
• Motivate and inspire a team of volunteers
• Drive sales by encouraging donations, purchases and gift aid
• Inspire the team to exceed targets

About You

• Retail experience and experience of working towards targets
• Ability to lead and motivate a team
• IT skills
• Happy to work weekends
• Enjoy a role that involves significant levels of manual handling

About Acorns

Acorns Children's Hospice are a children's charity, offering specialist palliative nursing care and support for local children and their families.  Every year, we support over 750 children and nearly 1,000 families, including those who are bereaved.  We have a network of charity shops across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire, which help to provide the funding that we need to provide this care.

Our Superstores are large-format, busy retail environments offering a broad range of products, including furniture, homeware, electricals, clothing and more.
